With the objective of taking integrated and accessible healthcare services closer to the people, Health and Wellness Camps were organised today at two locations in Kamrup Metropolitan District under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The Health and Wellness Camp held at the TRYCEM Hall, Sonapur, under Dimoria Development Block, was inaugurated by Dr. Tapan Das, the MLA, Dimoria LAC. Swapneel Paul, District Commissioner, Kamrup Metro visited the camp and reviewed the healthcare services being provided. He also interacted with beneficiaries and healthcare service providers.
Meanwhile, an Urban Health and Wellness Camp was organised at the Directorate of Town and Country Planning premises under Ward No. 48, Guwahati. Shri Chinmoy Prakash Phookan, Commissioner, Guwahati Municipal Corporation, Shri Pranab Dutta Goswami, Additional Commissioner, GMC, Shri Sushanta Kumar Dutta, Director, GMC Administration and Shri Sabyasachi Kashyap, State Mission Director, National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) were present and inspected the various services provided at the camp.
At both camps, specialist doctors from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital provided healthcare services. The camps offered screening for Non-Communicable Diseases, Tuberculosis and HIV, along with counselling and awareness on mental health, family planning, nutrition, healthy lifestyle and disease prevention. Yoga demonstrations were also conducted to promote healthy living.
In addition, services including AB-PMJAY card registration and e-KYC under Ayushman Bharat, birth and death registration, Unique Disability ID (UDID) services, laboratory investigations and free distribution of medicines were provided. Beneficiaries requiring further care were also referred to appropriate higher health facilities for advanced treatment.
A total of 510 beneficiaries availed services at the camp held at TRYCEM Hall, while 257 beneficiaries benefited from the Urban Health Camp at Ward No. 48. Thus, a total of 767 beneficiaries received various healthcare and allied services across the two camps.
