2025-In yet another moment of pride and inspiration, the students of OIL Pragyan Super 30, Guwahati, Nagaon and Dibrugarh centres in Assam and Itanagar Centre in Arunachal Pradesh have delivered an exceptional performance in the JEE Mains 2025. In this remarkable achievement, 25 out of 30 students from the Guwahati Centre, 28 out of 30 students each from the Nagaon and Dibrugarh Centres, and 29 students out of 30 from the Itanagar Centre have successfully qualified the prestigious national-level examination.
In a dedicated effort to uplift talented students from economically weaker sections, OIL had launched this flagship initiative in 2010, aimed at promoting higher education and equal opportunities. The program provides 11 months of completely free, fully residential coaching and academic mentoring to meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds, preparing them for India’s most competitive entrance exams-JEE (Mains & Advanced) and NEET. This transformative initiative in the past 15 years has been continuing to bridge the educational gap by enabling the deserving underprivileged students to gain admission into prestigious institutions such as the IITs, NITS, and top medical colleges across the Country.
In North East, OIL is offering engineering entrance coaching (JEE) at its four centers located in Guwahati, Nagaon, and Dibrugarh in Assam and Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh. For medical entrance coaching (NEET), a centre operates exclusively in Jorhat, Assam.
Through this initiative, OIL is not only nurturing academic excellence but also breaking the cycle of poverty by opening doors to quality education and brighter futures for students who need it the most. Since the inception of the project in 2010, 1,361 out of 1,482 students enrolled across four centres in have secured admissions in various engineering colleges such as IIT, ISM Dhanbad, IIST (ISRO), ISI, IISER, BIT PATNA, IIIT, Indian Maritime University (KOL) & NITs, state engineering colleges etc.
The four centres of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh since inception have supported students helping them secure admissions in premier engineering institutions.
Admission into the program follows a rigorous two-stage selection process-a written test followed by an academic interview. Candidates must belong to families with an annual income of less than 4 lakhs, ensuring that the support reaches the meritorious students belonging to underprivileged background. The vision of OIL Pragyan Super 30 goes beyond academics. The initiative focuses equally on character development, self-discipline, and leadership, nurturing students to not only achieve academic excellence but also emerge as changemakers in their communities.
As these students take one step closer to IITs and other premier engineering institutions, their success is a testament to what can be achieved when opportunity, commitment, and structured guidance come together.
