A meeting was held today at the Office of the District Commissioner Barpeta, under the chairmanship of the Election Expenditure Observer, Shri Meregu Suresh, IRS, to review and streamline the functioning of the Expenditure Monitoring Cell of the district in view of the forthcoming Assembly Elections, 2026.
During the meeting, the Expenditure Observer took stock of the preparedness and functioning of the Flying Squad Teams (FSTs) and Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs). He stressed the importance of maintaining strict vigilance, ensuring prompt response, and adhering to the prescribed guidelines related to election expenditure monitoring.
The meeting was attended by the Circle Officers of Barpeta, Baghbar, Barnagar, Kalgachia, Chenga and Sarthebari Revenue Circles, along with officials from the Model Code of Conduct Cell, the Superintendent of Taxes, the Superintendent of Excise, and other assisting officers.
