SITA Vice-Chairman Ramen Deka formally inaugurates Livelihood enhancement project of SITA at Nalbari

State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) Vice-Chairman Sri Ramen Deka inaugurated the project namely Integrated approaches for Women Empowerment adopting Scientific organized Goat Farming for Livelihood enhancement and establishment of Model Goat Farm today which will be implemented by Goat Research Station, Byrnihat,under Director of Research (Vety), Assam Agricultural University in collaboration with Anajori Development Society.Today’s programme was held at Kahua Resort,Nalbari.
The project was funded by the State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA), Assam and will be implemented by Goat Research Station,Byrnihat, under Director of Research (Vety), Assam Agricultural University in collaboration with Anajori Development Society. The said project will be implemented in three villages of Nalbari namely.Balitara, Khudrakatla Barkuchi and Kasimpur. From the selected beneficiaries, twenty four women were given four female goats (Does)each and five women were given two male goats(Buck)each.
Hon’ble Vice –Chairman Ramen Deka addressing the gathering puts that the project will not only empower the women folks, but it will definitely empower the society, nation and families. He hopes that the project will also uplift the Socio-economic condition along with empowerment of rural women.Later in the programme,Hon’ble Vice-Chairman Ramen Deka distributed Goats to the selected women beneficiaries.
The programme was attended by Sri B.N Bhatacharjee, Deputy Director(Vety), Assam Agricultural University, Dr. Dipak Bhuyan, Chief Scientist, Goat Research Centre,Byrnihat,D.S Hazari,ARO SITA,Sri Matiur Rehman,Secretary of Anajori Development Society,other officials and many beneficiaries.
