Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah ceremonially launched the State SCVT Management Information System (MIS) Portal for ITIs in Assam

Minister of Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Jayanta Mallabaruah officially launched the State SCVT Management Information System (MIS) Portal for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Assam, at Rehabari today. The MIS portal is a dynamic digital platform which has been expertly crafted under the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Assam. By addressing the gathering, Minister Baruah said that this new portal is all set to revolutionize the management and administration of vocational training institutes across the state. “It intends to provide Trainee Enrollment Information, Examination Information, and Placement Information by ensuring Efficiency and Transparency, data security and so on”, He reiterated.

Minister Baruah also said that the State SCVT MIS Portal stands as a game-changing tool in regards to the modernization and streamlining the management of ITIs in Assam. It spearheads a transformation in the management of ITIs and the seamless transition of trainees into the workforce. He said “we plan to seamlessly integrate both the NCVT and SCVT portals to centralize comprehensive ITI-related information from all over the country. This integration will facilitate a thorough comparative analysis of various programs launched in different regions of the nation.”

Minister Baruah highlighted the department’s ongoing initiatives, including a comprehensive skill gap survey that assessed the need for essential skills across various regions of the state. Based on the findings of this survey, targeted training programs have been launched. Additionally, he also mentioned a recent registration drive conducted by the department, which aims to provide training to approximately 5,270 young individuals based on their preferences and the demands of the job market.

During today’s event, Minister Barooah also inaugurated a Girls’ Hostel at the ITI for Women in Guwahati.
