Buniyadi Shiksha Abhiyan was launched by DEO in-charge and senior principal, GHS Kiphire, YP Singh on Thursday, at GMS PHED ward Kiphire Town.At the programme,BSA campaign was highlighted by district lead, Piramal Foundation,Lithsa while ToT and coordinator i/c,EBRC Kiphire Asepa Sangtam spoke on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and its benefits for students.Earlier, Gandhi fellow Asmita Barman led the programme, while Gandhi fellow Swmkwr delivered closing remarks.
The programme was attended by teachers from various schools and department officials.It may be mentioned that BSA is an initiative of Aspirational District Collaborative, Piramal Foundation in accelerating Nipun Bharat,a national initiative for proficiency in reading with understanding and numeracy in 2021,which aims to achieve Universal Foundational and Numeracy (FLN) in schools by 2026-2027.
Piramal Foundation through its demo school intervention will improve the quality of education in primary grades through FLN.The involvement of community in addition to the teachers will be given equal importance while creating volunteers to make it successful in a larger scale.
