National Level IP Yatra Programme to be Held in Shillong on 27th–28th November 2025

A Two-Day National Level Intellectual Property (IP) Yatra Programme is being organised in Shillong on the 27th and 28th of November 2025 with the support of the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The programme will be held at The Shillong Club in Police Bazar and will focus on strengthening awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights among MSMEs, start-ups, innovators and emerging enterprises.

The initiative aims to help micro, small and medium businesses navigate the process of IP registration, protection and utilisation while promoting a stronger culture of innovation and creativity in the region. It will underline the importance of Intellectual Property in enhancing competitiveness, safeguarding innovation and supporting business expansion for enterprises seeking to protect their products, designs, technologies and brand identities.

The programme will highlight guidance on IP processes and government-supported mechanisms that encourage IP adoption and ecosystem strengthening, while also promoting the commercial potential associated with protecting original innovation. It intends to build a more informed and IP-aware entrepreneurial environment and encourage MSMEs to view Intellectual Property as a driver of economic value.

Participants are expected from across the MSME community along with entrepreneurs, innovators, enforcement agencies, legal practitioners, industry representatives and academic institutions with an interest in technology and Intellectual Property. The programme is open to all interested citizens who wish to gain a deeper understanding of IP and its relevance in today’s innovation-led economy.
