LIC HFL Reviews Progress of SANGAM Livelihood Project in Mizoram

An inspection visit to the ongoing LIC HFL SANGAM Project was conducted on 19 August at Seswng, Thingsulthliah, Aizawl, reaffirming LIC Housing Finance Limited’s (LIC HFL) commitment to sustainable livelihood creation and enterprise development in India’s Northeast region.

The visit was led by Abhinav Das, CSR Regional Lead, Northeast Zone, and focused on reviewing the operational progress of two flagship enterprises under the initiative: banana chips production and GI-tagged Mizo chilli pickle making. These enterprises are empowering local entrepreneurs, particularly women’s self-help groups,through infrastructure support, training, and market linkages.
During the visit, Shri Das interacted with project beneficiaries, assessed production levels and quality standards, and discussed operational challenges and support requirements. He also inspected the Common Facility Centre (CFC) for banana chips manufacturing, where he engaged with unit members on production workflows, hygiene protocols, packaging, and market access strategies.

The visit was accompanied by Shri Chandan Borthakur, President, APRINS, and the Village Council President, Seswng. It underscored the collaborative approach between LIC HFL, implementation partners, and local governance bodies in building resilient, self-sustaining rural enterprises that leverage indigenous resources and traditional knowledge, while ensuring scalability and compliance with food safety standards.
