Sashastra Seema Bal empowers youth in Udalguri with skill development courses and civil welfare program
Sashastra Seema Bal’s (SSB) civic action programme of 23rd Vahini, Lalpool, organized a basic 30-day cutting and tailoring course and beautician course at Sangeet Natya Vidyalaya in Udalguri. The courses concluded on April 11 with the successful completion of the programs by 20 students who were awarded certificates of tailoring and beautician by Mr. Anthony Thanmi, Deputy Inspector General Sector Headquarters Bezpara.
The closing ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Shri Vikas Jaiswal, Deputy Commandant, 23rd Corps, Shri Bhola Nath, Deputy Commandant, 23rd Corps, and the team of trainers, school teachers, invitees, central agency and civil administrative officers of Udalgiri and Bhairabkunda, and about 150 local people and media personnel and other SSB officers.
In addition to the certificates, the SSB distributed items to needy people living in the border area under their civil welfare program. The distributed items included 8 sets of solar street lights for different locations, 6 sets of Kent RO system water purifiers for different places, and 17 pieces of twin dustbins for different locations. Additionally, two sets of complete football kits were given to two football clubs.
The chief guest, Mr. Anthony Thanmi, Deputy Inspector General, motivated the children and encouraged them to maintain the spirit of service, security, and brotherhood of SSB. The event was a resounding success and a testament to the commitment of the SSB towards the welfare of the people living in the border area.
The distribution of items under the civil welfare program is expected to bring about a positive change in the lives of the people living in the area. The certificates awarded to the students will empower them to pursue their careers and contribute to the development of their community.
The successful completion of the cutting and tailoring course and beautician course is a step towards achieving the goal of skill development and self-reliance in the region.
